Beach Vela Rina on Drvenik Mali island
Vela Rina is the best known beach on Drvenik Mali. It lies on the island’s western side of the island. The bay is open and bright. The shore is shaped by soft sand. The water is shallow near the beach and becomes deeper gradually. The sea color changes from pale turquoise to deeper blue farther out. The sand keeps the water clear. The beach is easy to reach. It is a short walk from the Borak ferry port.
A narrow path leads to the bay through low Mediterranean shrubs and small pine trees. The landscape is quiet. The sound of the sea grows as you get closer to the shore. When the beach opens up, the wide sandy curve feels peaceful. Swimming is simple. The entrance is smooth and shallow for a long distance. This makes the bay suitable for families with children. Snorkeling is possible near the edges, where the seabed is a mix of sand and stones. There is no natural shade on the beach. Visitors often bring umbrellas or small tents. Next to the beach there is a small restaurant. It serves simple local dishes, often prepared with island-grown ingredients. We recommend bringing swimwear, sunscreen, towels, hats, sunglasses and maybe some snacks or fruits.
And please arrive at the meeting point 30 minutes before departure.
